I-65 TN River Bridge Work Complete; All Lanes Open

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Transportation announced late Friday that the Tennessee River Bridge project is complete on Interstate 65.

The inside southbound lane opened at 5:00 pm Friday.  The northbound lanes and the outside southbound lane opened last week.

The $6.8 million project began July 16.  Crews applied a polymer overlay to the bridge to improve friction, which will help prevent icing during freezing conditions.
