Huntsville Police Respond to Vehicle Accident on Highway 72

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WHNT) — A vehicle accident on Friday night leaves one female with life threatening injuries.

It happened on Highway 72 east at Epworth Drive.

The victim was a passenger in the motor vehicle, which was traveling eastbound.

Huntsville Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.

The victim was ejected from the vehicle and it landed on top of her, according to authorities.

She was transported to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI emergency responders and the driver had no visible injuries, according to Huntsville Police.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the investigation continues.
