Huntsville, Ala. - There are a few things that will get you Hitter of the Week honors in the Southern League. One of them is hitting four home runs in four consecutive days. Huntsville Stars outfielder Khris Davis did just that and earned Southern League Hitter of the Week honors for July 23-29.

During that six game span, the 24-year-old hit .545 (12-for-22) with two doubles, four home runs, nine RBIs and seven runs scored. He walked four times and struck out seven. The outfielder had tied the Stars franchise record of five consecutive games with home runs from July 21 – 27. He was one game shy of tying the Southern League record of six consecutive games set by Derrick Lee in 1996. He currently has a 13-game hitting streak going into tonight’s game.

Davis is batting .383 (49-for-128) in 44 games for the Stars this season. He had nine doubles, eight home runs and 23 RBIs. He spent two separate stints on the disabled list this season, the first from May 7 (retroactive to May 6) – June 4 and the second from June 9 (retroactive to June 7) – July 9.

The Milwaukee Brewers and Huntsville Stars have made a pair of roster moves prior to tonight’s game against the Chattanooga Lookouts. Outfielder Khris Davis has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville. In a corresponding move, outfielder Brock Kjeldgaard will join the Stars from High-A Brevard County.

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 25, the Southern League limit.
