6 DUI Arrests, 103 Tickets at Huntsville Police Safety Checkpoint

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police officers spent most of the overnight hours Friday at a safety checkpoint, and officers caught several people breaking the law.

The checkpoint was set up on Pulaski Pike, just south of Oakwood Avenue.

Huntsville Police arrested six people for driving under the influence.  Officers issued 103 tickets, and impounded four cars.

The checkpoint was the 19th since Memorial Day.  More checkpoints are planned as part of a state grant.
