Update: Suspicious Item At Tuscumbia Church A Hoax
TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WHNT) – Police say an item found outside of a church in Tuscumbia was not dangerous, and was a hoax.
Tuscumbia Police, the Florence Bomb Squad and ATF from Huntsville were called to the Family Worship Center on Willingham Road around 9 a.m. Wednesday. Someone had found a suspicious item with the wording ‘Bomb 2′, and called 911.
Police checked the item and determined it was not dangerous. It was five batteries taped together. One side had the wording ‘Bomb 2′ and the other said ‘Isoking’.
Police say two kids admitted to putting it there on Sunday as a prank. According to Tuscumbia Police, since there was no criminal intentions behind the making of the fake devices, no charges will be filed against the kids.
