HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville City Council is expected to make a decision Thursday regarding the future employment of two police officers fired due to accusations they violated departmental rules.

P.J. Lee and Brett Russell are the officers appealing to get their jobs back.

Officer Lee admitted to punching a man while trying to take him into custody last year. Our news partners The Huntsville Times, obtained a video of a separate incident involving Lee from December 2011.  In this video, he arrests Edith Stewart after a traffic stop in Blossomwood.

Officer P.J. Lee: “Naw, but you need to slow your tail down coming through this neighborhood.”
Driver: “We were fighting cause she…”
Officer P.J. Lee: “Get out of the **** car…”
Driver: “screams…”
Other Officer: “What the hell’s wrong with you, bud?”

The video shows Officer Lee throwing Stewart on the ground after pulling her car over.

Huntsville Police Chief Lewis Morris determined Lee’s behavior showed unnecessary use of force.

We don’t know yet if dash cam video of Officer Brett Russell is available.
