Update: Joe Paterno Statue Removed

The statue of former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has been removed from its location outside of Beaver Stadium.

The president of Penn State University ordered the removal of the statue.

Reports started flooding in of police and construction workers barricading both sides of the street and the sidewalks near the statue this morning. A chain-link fence was put up around the area and the statue was mostly concealed with a tarp.

The statue was removed with a forklift and was put into storage.
