Decatur Woman Charged with Child Abuse

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Decatur Police have charged a mother with abusing her own child.

21-year-old Latonia Renea Stinnett is charged with one count of child abuse.  Investigators say her four-month-old was taken to Parkway Hospital, suffering form injuries to its head and face.  The hospital called police and the Alabama Department of Human Resources, as required by law.

Police say the baby is expected to make a full recovery.
