Former Morgan County Principal Dies From Injuries in April Crash

Former Morgan County principal Guy Bowling died late Friday night from injuries he suffered in an April car crash. Bowling was critically hurt in an accident on April 21st. The crash happened on South Memorial Parkway near Farley Elementary School.

Bowling spent weeks at Huntsville Hospital and was then moved to a long term care facility in Moulton. According to the Facebook group, “Pray for Guy Bowling,” he had been making dramatic improvements in recent weeks.

People expressed their sadness on the page with comments like, “That’s one man that I am really going to miss that big squeeze and loving kindness from! Mr. Bowling, you lite up so many lives and obviously made a huge impact on so many more people than myself only.”

Bowling served as principal at Union Hill School and most recently at Priceville before retiring.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Arab Heritage-Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday at 2pm at Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 3pm.

Bowling was 53.
