Texas Tech University President Named New President at the University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., (WHNT) – The University of Alabama Board of Trustees chose a new president in Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon. Guy Bailey, who has been president of Texas Tech University was named to lead the University of Alabama.

Guy Bailey is a two-time University of Alabama graduate. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in English while he attended the University from 1968 to 1974. He is a Montgomery native.

Bailey was named the president of Texas Tech in 2008.
