Update: Diabetic Reaction Leads to South Parkway Wreck Tuesday Morning
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A three-vehicle wreck on South Memorial Parkway shut down both sides of the road Tuesday morning. The wreck happened around 6:15. Huntsville Police released new information on the wreck Wednesday morning. They say the driver of a truck was going southbound on Memorial Parkway at the Hobbs Road intersection when he has a diabetic reaction. Police say 45-year-old Darren Sales hit a utility pole and ran a red light before striking two other vehicles. The accident took down a traffic pole, bringing the traffic signals down across the parkway. Utilities crews have replaced the pole.
