Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman’s request for a new trial was denied by a federal judge.

According to our news partner, The Huntsville Times, U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller dismissed all of Siegelman’s claims that his trial in 2006 was flawed.

Such claims included allegations of a tainted jury and prosecutor misconduct.

Siegelman was convicted of honest services fraud, federal funds bribery, and conspiracy for appointing the former Healthsouth CEO to a state health board in exchange for $500,000 in donations to his 1999 lottery campaign.

Judge Fuller scheduled Siegelman to be resentenced on August 3rd, 2012.
