Alabama GOP Chooses Linda Coats as Judgeship Nominee

On Saturday, the Alabama Republican Party chose Linda Coats to be the party’s nominee for a Madison County District Judge seat.   She replaces Chris Messervy who was removed from the ballot by the party in May due to his failure to file a required report.

Coats finished behind Messervy in the April 24th Republican primary runoff.   Coats selection to be on the November general ballot is tantamount to being elected, because no Democrat qualified.

Coats has been practicing law for 21 years and has extensive experience working in the Madison County District Courts.
