Don’t expect too much activity this weekend — only isolated showers today as the best chance will be along the Cumberland Plateau, Lookout Mountain, and Sand Mountain.
We need the rain. We’ve had one month with above average rainfall and that was January. Other than that, it’s been very dry.
Long term, our weather pattern won’t change much. High pressure will dominate at the surface and upper levels. That means low rain chances and higher temperatures into next week. No strong cold fronts are expected. The map below is valid for next Tuesday at 7pm. The yellow, orange, and red indicate warmer air.
