Lauderdale County investigators make an arrest in a home invasion case and detectives say the attacker was the victim’s nephew.
According to detectives, Michael Holloway busted into his elderly uncle's home, beat him with a gun, and tied him up.
Detectives say the brutal attack stemmed from money troubles and investigators say Holloway got away with a couple hundred dollars in cash.
“He had a money crisis at his residence and according to him, he was in need of some money and tried to get some money from him,” said Travis Clemmons, Lauderdale County Lead Investigator.
Detectives say they received several tips that led them to Holloway’s home in the Central community, just miles from the victim’s home.
“In talking with him, he decided to tell us what went on,” said Clemmons.
According to Lauderdale County Sheriff's deputies, Holloway put on a mask during the attack and used a BB gun to knock the victim unconscious.
“Really concerning, we`ve seen it before, a number of times, a lot of times people that do things like this whether it be for drugs or whatever purpose, look at a family member first,” said Clemmons.
Detectives say after the victim regained consciousness, he drove himself to a nearby family member's home to call police.
Now arrested, Holloway faces charges for robbery and theft of property.
