Rolando McClain, a former Alabama football player and current Oakland Raider, was convicted of four misdemeanor charges on May 17 in Decatur Municipal Court.  The charges — assault, reckless endangerment, menacing, and unlawful discharge of a firearm — stem from a November 2011 attack on Rishard Tapscott.  McClain’s lawyer has appealed the verdict and asked for a jury trial.  McClain was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but remains free while the case is on appeal.
