Tonight in Cullman, a school will petition the city to de-annex it into the county limits.

Cullman Christian School and the church it was housed in was destroyed on April 27, 2011.   The school is currently in a temporary location, and has purchased land to build a new school.

That land is controversial, though, because the city zoning board denied the request despite a favorable traffic study.

Now, the school wants to get around the city rules by being de-annexed into the county.

The meeting is at Cullman City Hall at 7 p.m.
