There’s a renewed push underway to legalize the sales of alcohol in Hartselle. There will be a rally tomorrow to kick off the campaign. The “Say Yes” rally is Saturday, May 5 from 12-4 pm at Family Lanes Bowling Alley in Hartselle.

A group called “Hartselle Citizens for Economic Development” is behind the push. According to the group’s website, it’s a business decision, not a moral one.

Bob Francis, organizer of the rally, says, “According to statements I have from three different developers, alcohol is necessary not just for the sale of alcohol by businesses, but it indicates the progressiveness. One said it’s the gateway to your development.”

The vote will be in this November’s general election.
