The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced a handful of player moves before the start of tonight’s series at Mississippi. Infielder Jeff Bianchi has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to 4/21. Outfielder Brock Kjeldgaard has been placed on the DL, retroactive to 4/23. Infielder Juan Sanchez has been moved from Huntsville to High-A Brevard County. LHP Dan Merklinger has been activated from the DL and will start tonight’s game.

RHP Nick Bucci has also been added to the Stars roster, but will remain on the DL.

The Huntsville Stars and Milwaukee Brewers have announced two player moves prior to the start of tonight’s series opener at Mississippi. Outfielder Kentrail Davis has been activated off the disabled list. Additionally, outfielder and former Major Leaguer Jay Gibbons has been assigned to Huntsville.

Davis was sidelined back on April 12. He was batting .296 (8-27) with a double and four RBIs in six games to start the season. Gibbons was signed to a minor league contract by the Brewers in the off-season. He split time between the Los Angeles Dodgers and their Triple-A affiliate the Albuquerque Isotopes in both 2010 and 2011. In 24 games for the Dodgers last season, he hit .255 with one home run and five RBIs.

With these moves, the Stars active roster sits at 25, the Southern League limit.
