Hammers Prep For Last-Place Knoxville

The Alabama Hammers return to home to Huntsville after a tough two-game road as they host the Knoxville Nighthawks on NASA Community Night Saturday night at the Von Braun Center’s Propst Arena.

Kick off is set for 7 p.m. and free sponsored ticket vouchers are available at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Landers McLarty Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and Fiat on 72 West, the local Geico office on Old Madison Pike, Calhoun Community College, Alabama A&M, New Market B-B-Q and Scott Lighting.

The Knighthawks come in looking for their first win of the season after dropping their first four games of the season.  They come in with the lowest scoring offense in the league at 35.0 points per game and give up a league high 68.2 points per game.

The Knighthawks rank second in the Professional Indoor Football League with 220.5 passing yards per game and average just 11 rushing yards per game.  Defensively they give up a league high 68.2 rushing yards per game and 217 passing yards per game.

The Hammers return home after picking up their first win of the season against the Columbus Lions in a exciting 63-60 finish before dropping the second game of the road trip 62-44 against the Richmond Raiders.

Wide Receiver Charles McClain currently ranks second with 94 receiving yards per game and leads the league with 138.7 all-purpose yards per game.  Linebacker Al Donaldson ranks second with 5.2 tackles per game and has 21.0 total stops on the season.
