Low Speed Chase in Huntsville; Driver Arrested
A man who police say wouldn’t stop because he “did nothing wrong” was arrested overnight Monday after a low-speed police chase.
According to Huntsville Police, an officer was driving down University Drive near Putman Drive when he saw a car swerving in and out of one of the lanes. When the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver decided he wasn’t going to stop. He took police on a 20 minute chase, with speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour.
The chase took officers up Sparkman Drive, down Mastin Lake Road, and to Blue Spring Road. Police officers used spike strips several times, but the driver went around them. The driver then called 911 to tell the dispatcher that he wasn’t pulling over because he did not do anything wrong, according to police.
The driver was arrested in his driveway. Jeffery Frazier, 31, is charged with reckless endangerment and attempting to elude police.
