The Alabama football team practiced in full pads for a two-hour workout session at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior offensive lineman Barrett Jones and junior running back Jalston Fowler are pleased with the strides the Crimson Tide has made from practice one to practice 13.

“A-Day is always a fun time, and we are excited,” Jones said. “It’s the first chance to see the 2012 Alabama team as a unit to go out there in a game setting and perform. I think sometimes people perform just a little bit better in a game situation than in practice, but I’ll be excited to see just how we come together as a unit and perform.”

Fowler is happy to receive extra repetitions during the 2012 spring practice sessions with Eddie Lacy sidelined with a toe injury. Running behind a seasoned offensive line such as Jones, Chance Warmack, D.J. Fluker, and Anthony Steen, gives Fowler a lot of advantages heading into Saturday’s A-Day Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

“It’s been great,” Fowler said referring to his offensive line. “Those guys know what they are doing, they move get movement up front, and I love running behind them. Chance cleans everything out, and sometimes we meet in the hole and run into each other but we just laugh and keep going.”

The A-Day game will be held at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday April 14 at 2 p.m. It will be broadcast live by CSS at 2 p.m.
