UNA Baseball Tops South Region

After going 3-1 last week and improving to 21-7 overall, the University of North Alabama baseball team is now ranked No. 1 in the South Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
UNA was ranked No. 3 in the region last week behind Tampa and Delta State but jumped both schools in the latest rankings after both lost weekend series.
North Alabama is ranked No. 1 in the region, followed by Tampa (18-5), Delta State (15-5), West Florida (20-7), Nova Southeastern (14-4), Lynn (16-7), Florida Tech (16-9), Rollins (17-6), Saint Leo (16-8) and West Georgia (14-9).
The Lions have made two changes to their 2012 schedule. Tuesday’s home double-header against Arkansas Tech has been changed to a single game at 2 p.m. The Lions have also added a road game in Athens, Tenn., on Saturday, March 24 against Tennessee Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
