WHNT News 19 Wins Two Emmys

WHNT News 19 won two Emmy awards Saturday night at the Midsouth Regional Emmy awards in Nashville.

The station won in the weather category for “Surviving the Storm:  A Taking Action Special.”   The special, which gave important information on how to survive different severe weather conditions, aired just weeks before the April 27th tornadoes.

WHNT News 19’s Ben Smith, Christina Meeks, David Wood, Carson Clark, Tiffany Golden, Shane Hays, David Terry, Jacob Green and Joe Glotzbach each carried home an Emmy for winning the category.

David Wood also won the inaugural Video Journalist Emmy.  David won for the series of stories called, “24 Hours in the Life of a Tornado Survivor.”
