Madison County Commissioner Dale Strong will soon be moving from District Four representative to Chairman.  Tuesday, he defeated Wayne Parker to become the Republican nominee.

Strong says his goal is to make Madison County better by doing more with less and preparing for the future.

"Economic development is  number one," said Strong.  "BRAC 2015 is right around the corner, we've got to have our education, infrastructure, and our own house in order so we can lure these people to Madison County."

Strong does not face Democratic opposition in November, although he will appear on the ballot with a space for a write-in candidate by his name.

Commissioner Strong has served four terms and is the first Republican to hold the position of Madison County Commission Chairman.
