Wells Fargo Hits Consumers with New Fee
Wells Fargo customers in six more states are about to be hit with a fee.
The bank is expanding its efforts to charge seven dollars a month for customers using its Essential Checking account. Wells Fargo hasn’t released which states are getting the new fee, but it goes into effect in May.
Last year, the bank transitioned a group of customers in some Western states from free accounts to the fee-based one. There are ways for customers to waive the fee, depending on their deposits and balances.
